5 cups ice 1 cup cherry juice (unsweetened) 1/4 cup cherry syrup The juice of 1 lime 1/3 cup ginger ale 3 ounces Hangar 1 Straight Vodka 2 cherries for garnish

PREPARATION:

For the cocktails: Add ice to a blender followed by cherry juice, cherry syrup, lime juice, ginger ale and Hangar 1 Straight Vodka. Blend until frothy. Divide among two tall glasses. Garnish each drink with a cherry and serve with straws.

For the cherry syrup:
1 lb. fresh cherries, pitted
1 cup sugar
3 lime peels
juice of 1 lime
1 1/2 cups water
Place cherries, sugar, lime peels, lime juice and water in a sauce pot over medium heat. Cook until cherries are bursting and liquid starts to bubble, about 7-8 minutes. Remove cherry syrup from heat and let cherries cool/steep for about 10 minutes. Remove cherries from the syrup and strain cooled cherry syrup into a pint size mason jar. Mixture will keep in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
